biker dudes and the power tour

We got Mike's early father's day present this weekend - a bike trailer! Now we can start riding again - we haven't been since I got pregnant! Both of my boys are thrilled:

Colin LOVES riding in the trailer. We've been out twice and now just the mention of "riding bikes" sends him running for his shoes. He also tries to climb in the trailer whenever we're in the garage. He is always ready to go.

We are lucky to live in a subdivision that has not one, but two, parks with playgrounds for little ones. We usually just go to the one closest to our house, but this morning we got up and rode on the trail over by PRF and Colin's daycare, and then on our way back stopped at the second park on the other side of the subdivision. To C's delight, we found that they have entirely different playground equipment.

What? You noticed that they are dressed alike? All I can say is that I dressed Colin first. Who's the dork now?

Then this afternoon Grandpa Doug and Grandma Karen stopped by on their way home from their Power Tour across America. Colin was thrilled!

He had a great afternoon with them, playing with the new cars they brought (one toy, the other real), a trip to Happy Hollow park, and grilling out dinner. Poor little guy burst into tears when they left!

PS. You will notice Puppy (or Dog, as he used to be known) is in every single picture. Colin's love affair with Puppy has now reached a creepy Lifetime Movie level of obsession. He must have Puppy with him at all times, no matter what. I wrestled him away for a washing and then distracted Colin in the backyard this afternoon.. until a REAL dog started barking. Colin looked up and said "puppy!" in response. Then, a pause. Eye contact. I froze, holding my breath. You could literally see the wheels turning in his head. And then it started. "PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY!!! [VAGUE SCREAMING AND WHINING] PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY! [desperately climbing up my legs and sobbing] PUPPPPAAAAYYYYY!!!!"

I gave up. Dirty puppy came back out to play. No one could withstand that kind of torture for a whole afternoon. Puppy may be going to high school with him at this rate.
