Fashionista (or, "we live with this guy part II")

Colin continues to come up with some interesting wardrobe choices.  Here he is stumbling around in mom's boots.

And while going through tubs of his old clothes for The Baby Sister, we came across this fly 3-6 mo. jacket and 12 mo. hat, which he had to put on.  Looking ready for the runway!  (the hat apparently does still fit him and is now his new winter hat.  The coat has been retired, thankfully.

big boy bedroom

Colin's big boy furniture was finally delivered this week, and the last traces of his little nursery have disappeared.  While I was quite sad about this, Colin was super excited to get home from school and find a big boy bed in his bedroom.  It took him about 13 seconds to run to the bed and start jumping on it.

He kept asking me if this bed was going to stay here "all day?"

All of his baby boats stuff has been replaced with sports.  I feel like I just decorated this room for a baby yesterday.

We were pretty nervous to see how the transition from the crib would go.  I expected to be up all night the first night, but it went okay for the most part.  He fell out once, and once I went to check on him and found him sleeping in the middle of the floor.  Night two he was silent all night until 4 am when we woke to him screaming "I'M STUCK!!!"  So Mike went up to the room and couldn't find him anywhere!!  Turns out at some point he crawled under the bed to sleep (he had puppy and buddy with him so it was clearly an intentional trip) and then he got stuck.  So Mike pulled him out and he slept ok the rest of the night.  What will night three hold for us?  We'll see.  I'm just happy he likes it so far and hasn't begged to go back to the crib which is now in the next room awaiting "the baby sister," as C calls her...

thanksgiving 2012

We had a great thanksgiving at home this year!  We started the day with cheering on dad in a turkey trot.  A real live fire truck was parked at the race and Colin was ecstatic!

We cheered daddy across the finish line, then Colin ran the equivalent of a 5k around the park while Grandpa Ron chased him down.

Thanksgiving dinner for Colin consisted of three servings of cranberries, two bites of corn, and a whole piece of pumpkin pie.  When asked what he was thankful for, Colin said, "I am happy for presents.  Where are the presents?"  I think we have some work to do on the thanksgiving concept...

Colin got some cuddle time with Grandma and some belated birthday presents (I guess he was right, there were presents...)

I filled my nearly-31 week belly with delicious food and did some serious napping...

and best of all, we got to spend lots of time together as a family...

halloween 2012

Here is our little fireman headed out for trick or treating last night!

He was so excited at this point he was running down the driveway yelling "TRICK OR TREAT! TRICK OR TREAT!" to no one in particular....

This was the first year he really "got" what was going on... and he had a blast.  Here he is counting his bounty and overdosing on chocolate before bed...
