sibling love...

Well, maybe I won't go that far yet... but the Cs are definitely starting to interact more.  Charlotte thinks Colin is the funniest person on earth and loves watching whatever he is doing.  For his part, Colin is starting to figure this out and try to entertain her.

Here's a brief example... watch how happy she gets when Colin talks to her!

They were playing on the playmat together and she was laughing so hard at him... louder than I have ever heard her laugh!

my mini-me and his mini me

despite all this love, he's still the big brother and can take domain over her stuff at any time.

but the smiliest baby on earth doesn't mind.

besides, he still has plenty of big boy toys to keep him busy.  Charlotte was very intrigued by bubbles.

but nothing beats having dad lift you up in the air

colin & jack

Just a few pictures from this weekend when Lynn and Jack came to visit...

These two are BFF!  Other than a few initial sharing-related disputes, we were amazed at how well these two got along!  They had so much fun together!  We feel they must have inherited their moms' compatibility :)

dining on the patio.. letting the parents eat the most peaceful meal they've had in years

on a ride to the park, each had to have their own water bottle

Twins?

Colin was so funny, telling us, "Jack can walk now!  I didn't know that!"

4 mo. visit

Charlotte's 4 month pedi visit went well.  Our sweet girl is up to 25.25 in. long (75th%) and 13 lbs 10.9 oz (50%) with a 50% head.  Tall girl!  She showed off her pushup skills (and her spitting up skills), and dr. was very impressed with her rolling.  She got shots too but seemed to do much better with them this time around. We also got the okay to try oatmeal soon!  Growing up too fast!

memorial day weekend

At the very last minute, we decided to make a trip down to the ville for Memorial Day weekend.  I think the kids had a great time seeing family, and Charlotte did great on her very first trip out of town!

We all went down to cheer on Daddy, Aunt Zoe and Mr. Zach at the 5k Saturday morning.  Colin climbed on this wall and yelled "GO DADDY" in order to "make him run faster!"  Must have worked since Mike rocked his time!

stealing dad's post-run snack... it's a tradition.

Due to a bunch of rain, we had to hang around the house Saturday afternoon.  But we still had fun.

And Charlotte got lots of cuddles from everyone...

I thought the car rides would be the worst and they'd be fine once we got there.  But really, they both refused to sleep at night, and slept a ton in the car.  Go figure.  On the way back, we all started out like this:

but soon enough, they were both like this:

A good (though exhausting) weekend was had by all.

4 months

A few days late, here are a bunch of four month pictures.  I recall this being the stage where it started to get a lot harder to get monthly pictures of Colin as well.  My little wiggleworm!

Charlotte is doing great at four months!  We got over our swaddle issue and if anything she seems to be sleeping even better without it.  She's eating like a little piglet at school and starting to sleep better there too.  As you know, she's rolling, and also grabbing and getting things in her mouth, and starting to giggle out loud at us.  Unless she's hungry or tired, she just seems to be such a smiley, happy baby!

Colin-isms

Outside Colin's new classroom, there is a big posterboard that poses a weekly question, and then each student's response listed below. Last week, the question was, "How much does [some item I can't remember] cost?" The responses ranged from "three cookies" to "eleven".   Colin's response: "two nickels." (how does he know what a nickel is?). This week, the question was, "Why do mommy and daddy go to work?" Again, his classmates responded with things ranging from "they like it" to "one time I lost a toy" and other assorted gibberish. Colin's response: "to pay the money."  Such an astute observer.
