childrens museum trip

Saturday we braved the ultimate gauntlet in Indiana parenting... the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  They bill it as the "worlds' biggest and best" children's museum, and they are not kidding.  We were there for almost four hours and I think we saw maybe ten percent of the place? Our friends were there for the same four hours and we never even saw them.  It is five floors of pure insanity - but it is very, very cool.

As we were pulling into the garage, Colin started shrieking "DINO!!!!" from the back seat.  Sure enough, there is a five story dinosaur scaling the building.  He was hooked already.

I got pictures of almost nothing we did.  Most of my time was spent ensuring I didn't lose my kid in a sea of other equally jacked-up children.  But here are a few (mostly bad) pictures of all the fun that Colin had.

His favorite thing by far (which he is still talking about) was the yellow tractor he got to "drive."

which he managed to get in trouble in within 20 seconds.

honing his CB skills in some weird safari exhibit.

can you see the death glare he's giving that kid?  Sharing is not popular with him right now.

We were literally feet from a full size genuine steam locomotive and dozens of model trains racing around overhead tracks in Train Land.  Colin chose to play with the same train table they have at daycare.  Go figure.

We had to drag him away from the sand table.

He was interested in this massive water table only insofar as it allowed him to clean the sand off his hands.

Daddy rolling him around on the hand-crank train ride.

FASTER DADDY!

Cheesing it up at lunch!

We had a great day.  I was thrilled there were so many things for little guys to play with, all the way to adults.  Even if neither of them would go into the Barbie exhibit with me.  Colin had a blast and I can foresee many, many more trips here.
